Oman-Qatar meet accords top priority to local products

MUSCAT — The Omani–Qatari Joint Business Council held its second meeting here yesterday under chairmanship of Khalil bin Abdullah Al Khonji, chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) and Sheikh Abdurrahman bin Mohammed bin Jabr Al Thani from the Qatari side in the presence of members of the council.

The chairmen of the meeting in their opening speeches expressed their delight over the extent of cooperation relations between the two countries.

The meeting discussed a number of topics aimed at enhancing the brotherly and cooperation ties between businessmen and businesswomen in the two countries.

The meeting amended the agreement establishing the council and a new revised agreement was signed by the heads of the two sides.

The meeting also reaffirmed its decision to accord top priority to purchasing national products for the government and motivating the private sector projects of both the countries.
