Mubarak leaves after visit

MUSCAT — Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and his delegation left Oman yesterday, winding up their visit to the Sultanate.

During his stay here, Mubarak held talks with His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said on promoting bilateral cooperation in several sectors, in addition to discussing regional and international issues of mutual interest.

His Majesty the Sultan led the farewell party for the president at the Royal Airport. Present on the occasion were His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, deputy prime minister for the Council of Ministers, Sayyid Ali bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, General Ali bin Majid Al Ma’mari, minister of the Royal Office, Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, minister responsible for foreign affairs, Dr Omar bin Abdulmunim Al Zawawi, His Majesty the Sultan’s special adviser for external liaison, Maqbool bin Ali Sultan, minister of commerce and industry, Yahya bin Saud Al Sulaimi, minister of education and head of mission of honour accompanying the president, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Zahir Al Hinai, the Sultanate’s ambassador to Egypt and its permanent representative to the Arab League, and Izzeldeen Fahmy, the Egyptian ambassador to the Sultanate.
