Mubarak arrives today

MUSCAT — Egyptian President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak will arrive on a two-day official visit to the Sultanate today. The visit will be followed by a private visit.

“In continuation of the meeting among brothers and in a bid to promote the brotherly relations between the Sultanate and Egypt, President Hosni Mubarak of the Arab Republic of Egypt will pay a two-day official visit to the Sultanate starting on March 18, Wednesday, to be followed by a private visit,” said the Diwan of Royal Court in a statement yesterday.

His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said will lead the welcoming party for the president and the delegation accompanying him.

During the visit, all issues that may lead to opening up new horizons of cooperation between the two countries in different fields will be discussed, in addition to reviewing the Arab and international developments.

The president will be accompanied by an official delegation that comprises Foreign Minister Ahmed Abu Al Ghait, Minister of Commerce and Industry Eng. Rasheed Mohammed Rasheed, Minister of Investment Dr Mahmoud Mohyieddin, Dr Zakariya Azmi, head of the Egyptian Presidential Diwan, and Ezz Eddin Fahmy, the Egyptian ambassador to the Sultanate.
