Bank Sohar sponsors Oman Today Restaurant Awards

MUSCAT — Bank Sohar was the main sponsor of Oman Today Restaurant Awards 2008, the winners of which were honoured at a gala event held at Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa last week.

Senior managers of the bank and some of the bank’s corporate customers attended the award-presentation ceremony.

This is the second year that Bank Sohar has sponsored Oman Today Restaurant Awards, the yardstick by which restaurants and hotels in Oman are recognised for their excellence in different categories.

“For the second year in succession, we, at Bank Sohar, are happy to be part of an annual event that spotlights Oman’s hospitality industry. Both the big houses and the small and medium players in the hospitality industry are making immense efforts to gain excellence and recognition that will then help Oman become a preferred tourist destination of the world,” said Dr Mohammed Abdulaziz Kalmoor, CEO of Bank Sohar. “Several of those who have a presence in the hospitality business are small and medium entrepreneurs. We reiterate that Bank Sohar has a special place for them in its plan of business and we are determined to support their endeavours in a substantial way.
