36th Melody Music Ensemble at DRC

MUSCAT — Melody Music Centre conducted the 36th Music Ensemble at Darsait Recreation Club (DRC) recently. This time Melody combined the Christmas celebrations and the last ensemble of 2008 together.

Silvana D’souza was the captain of the show and Sandra Sunny, a violin student of Melody Music Centre, Darsait, anchored it. Babu Rajendran, cultural secretary of Indian Social Club, was the chief guest.

Babu Rajendran, in his speech, explained the importance of motivating young stars by providing stages like this.

Melody Music Centre conducts this musical programme as a platform for the students to perform in front of their friends and relatives. This programme will help the students get rid of stage fear and boost their confidence as a performer. Almost 1,000 students performed throughout this programme.

The music evening started with a keyboard solo by M. Urjitha. She played Angels We Have. There were 12 more keyboard solos performed by Rahul Rajan, Linda Khamissi, Surya Suresh, Alamupriya, Aastha Arora, Karthika Sai Voomith, Nazneen Sheikh, Rahasya Chandan, Varun C. Suvarna and Ayush Pradhan.

The Jingle Bells by P.S. Pramod and Sriman on the keyboard and Vikesh on the drums gave a nostalgic feeling to the audience. Besides these performances, the piano solo by Hardik Jain enthralled the audience. The guitar orchestra played by five little stars conquered the heart of every one. Nidhi Nair, Hardik Choudhari, Harichandran Balaji, Reuben Lalan and Shanuk Stephen participated in the programme, supported by Alamupriya on the keyboard.

Violin solos by Thajanee and Jeffrey George were appreciated by the audience.

Vocal performance by Lini Lalan and Joe D’souza gave a glittering effect to the show. Rocking performances were presented by drummers Rahul Rajan, who played Toddle and Karan Pandit, who played Mavuto Mega Mix.

Murali Mohan, a student of Darsait centre, also entertained the audience. The next Melody Music Ensemble will be conducted on January 30, 2009.
