On New Year’s Eve, all roads will lead to Al Sawadi Beach Resort

MUSCAT — New Year’s Eve may still be two weeks away but preparations are on in full swing in Muscat.

Light and Shadow Enterprises LLC has announced an exclusive ‘New Year Eve Night Out’ at the Al Sawadi Beach Resort.

“Big plans for the big night have all been chalked out. We have a lot of events lined up for the night to herald 2009 on a high. International DJs from London and India will whip up the excitement on 31st night with their foot-tapping numbers,” Rajeev Chowdhary, managing director, Light and Shadow Enterprises LLC, said yesterday.

To make travel to the venue hassle-free for revellers, the organisers have planned to hire ONTC buses to ferry guests from Qurum to Al Sawadi Resort.

“We want people to indulge in relaxed revelry. They should not worry about driving all the way to Al Sawadi Beach Resort,” said Rajeev.

“There will be good food, music and surprise elements,” he said.

Plans are on to mark the midnight moment with fireworks. “We have got in touch with a company that specially deals with fireworks to get the necessary permission from the ROP,” Rajeev said.

While music will set the tone, children too will be treated to balloon corners, face painting and henna session, the organisers said.

“We want our regulars to be aware of our plans early so they can freeze their party destination,” said Rajeev Chowdhary adding: “Those who do bulk and block bookings can avail themselves of discounts”.

“I also invite interested companies to come join us to pep up our New Year’s Eve offering,” he said.

A busy year is drawing to a close and it’s time to party hard. As one gets ready to usher in the New Year, an avid party-goer says, “This is when Oman pumps up the volume, gets into party gear, goes footloose and fancy-free. So it is great that Light and Shadow Enterprises have organised an event and that too on the beach. It is a night worth looking forward too. I hope they will have psychedelic lights, and DJs will hold court with Bollywood, retro, hip-hop, reggaeton, progressive and trance music. I am sure it will be the mother of all parties to welcome the New Year.”
