HM holds talks with Russian official, receives message from Iraqi premier

MUSCAT — His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said received Sergey Mironov, chairman of the Federal Council of Russia at Bait Al Barakah yesterday.

They reviewed bilateral relations and discussed ways to promote cooperation in different domains to serve the common interests of the friendly Omani and Russian people.

The meeting was attended by Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, chairman of the State Council, and Sergey Ivanov, ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Sultanate, and the delegation accompanying Mironov.

His Majesty the Sultan also received a written message from Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al Malki yesterday on promoting relations between the two countries in different domains.

The message was delivered to His Majesty by Dr Mohammed Munagid Aifan Al Dlaimi, Iraqi minister of state for foreign affairs and envoy of the Iraqi prime minister, during an audience given to him at Bait Al Barakah yesterday.

The audience was attended by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, secretary-general of the Foreign Ministry, and Abdul Rasoul Kadhim Aloush, Iraqi ambassador to the Sultanate.
