Boosting brotherly ties

MUSCAT — His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said gave an audience at Bait Al Barakah yesterday to chairmen of the AGCC Shura and representatives of National and Ummah Councils.

During the audience they reviewed the outcome of the second regular meeting of the Gulf legislative councils hosted by the Sultanate as well as its decisions to promote cooperation among the councils.

His Majesty the Sultan also gave an audience yesterday to AGCC Secretary-General Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Attiyah.

They reviewed the preparations for the 29th AGCC summit to be hosted by the Sultanate.

Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, minister responsible for foreign affairs, also attended the meeting.

Later, Shura representatives, National and Umma Councils chairmen and the AGCC secretary-general expressed their gratitude to His Majesty the Sultan in separate messages.

They expressed their thanks for the warm welcome, hospitality, happy stay and good organisation of the meeting which in turn contributed to its success and led to positive decisions and outcomes.

They also affirmed that they have completed the organisational aspects while keeping in mind the visions and aims of the AGCC leaders who approved holding this meeting regularly under the umbrella of the AGCC.

At the conclusion of their message they prayed to Allah the Almighty to safeguard His Majesty the Sultan wishing him all success in his endeavours to achieve welfare to the Sultanate and its people and promote the bonds of brotherhood among the AGCC leaders and peoples.
