Badr receives Finland, Hungarian officials

MUSCAT — Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, secretary-general of the Foreign Ministry, received here yesterday Marjata Rasi, undersecretary of state for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Finland, and the delegation accompanying her, currently visiting the Sultanate.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the existing relations between the two friendly countries and ways of strengthening them.

They also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common concern. The meeting was attended from the Omani side by His Highness Sayyid Ja’ifer bin Salim Al Said, head of West Europe Department; Lyoutha bint Sultan Al Mughairiyah, head of the secretary-general’s office department and other officials at the Foreign Ministry.

l Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi also received yesterday Lazlo V, state secretary at the Hungarian Foreign Ministry and envoy of the Hungarian prime minister to the Sultanate. The meeting discussed bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them between the Sultanate and Hungary besides agreement on signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two foreign ministries and activating bilateral consultations between the two friendly countries.

The meeting was attended by Lazlo Vodor, Hungarian non-resident ambassador to the Sultanate; Salim bin Mohammed Al Riyami, head of Eastern Europe Department and Liyotha bint Sultan Al Mughairiyah, head of the secretary-general office’s department at the Foreign Ministry.
