Al Kawther opens 4th outlet in Rustaq

MUSCAT — Hamad bin Saif Al Jassas, deputy wali of Rustaq, has inaugurated the fourth outlet of Al Kawther in Rustaq. Many distinguished guests from various ministries and governmental departments attended the inaugural ceremony.

This hypermarket is the biggest in the area with 7,000sqm of shopping space. It will cater to both the local citizens and the expatriate community in the area.

One can have a great shopping experience at Al Kawther if they are looking for reasonable price, quality and convenience.

Keeping the local citizens in mind, Al Kawther plans to employ at least 1,000 Omanis in various segments of the outlet soon. That way, the group will be taking care of the needs of the citizens of the area and maintaining its Omanisation ratio. The new outlet has already employed more than 120 Omanis in various sections.

Other than the large food and cosmetic division, the hypermarket has sections for readymade garments, electronics, household items, footwear etc.

Besides these, there are bakery, fish and fresh vegetable sections.

The hypermarket also houses a money exchange counter so that the customers‘ financial needs are taken care of. The Fast Food corner provides a variety of lip-smacking food items.

Prices are very reasonable at the computer and mobile shops.

Al Kawther opened the Bidiya outlet in 2006. It plans to open its next outlet in four months.

Unnikrishnan K, group general manager of the hypermarket, told mediapersons that more markets were under plan in the other regions of the Sultanate in 2009.

S. Sreekumaran Nair, MD of Al Kawther Group, said the expansion plans would provide ample employment opportunity for the Omanis in various sections.

Al Kawther Group intends to branch out further by opening outlets in Khaboura, Sohar and Sinaw next year and one in the capital area.

All this was possible under the guidance of Sreekumaran Nair, who along with his local partner Saif Said Saif Al Ghallabi, set up their first establishment in 1994 with an automatic bakery.
